A fun, ideas-packed day to enhance your family offer
The day will look at what families want; showcasing the very best in family offers.
Speakers an
d workshops will focus on realistic and achievable solutions for your venue and on children's drive to play.
The showcase will leave you buzzing with new ideas and inspiration and will be a fantastic opportunity to share your work, meet colleagues working on similar projects and pick up some new, practical ideas for engaging family audiences at your site.

A large choice of workshops with practical strategies and time-saving ideas, and feedback session to discuss what you learnt and what you thought

A supplier's exhibition to help you find the equipment, materials and advice you need
The event ends with a guided evaluation to discuss with us what you have taken from the conference, and a 'What Next' plan.

The day will help you ensure families get the most from your site, and will include looking at the fundamentals of pre-visit and welcome, tone of voice, simple, time-saving ideas and inspiring learning and interpretation products - all focused on inviting families to continue to engage with your venue.
Who is the event for?
The event is suitable for professionals and volunteers from manager level to officers and visitor-facing staff.
Whether you’re just starting to think about developing your offer for families, have the building blocks already in place or an established family following, this event will help you to reflect on what you already provide and develop new learning and interpretation for families.
The showcase is relevant across a breadth of sites in the heritage sector from museum and galleries, historic houses, visitor attractions, to gardens, parks, countryside and woodland sites.

The conference could offer a great opportunity for a team away day to help you reflect together and build upon your family offer. Facilities for team meetings will be available as an additional resource to help you make the most of the event.

We are also offering teams the option for a two day study visit incorporating the conference for you to take a closer look at your family offer, which could include hands-on training, a facilitated review, team meeting or practical action planning session.

Delegate rates
Costs have been kept deliberately low to ensure it is affordable and encourages ideas to flow within the sector:
£ 85 + VAT Day rate for commercial organisations
£ 65 + VAT Day rate for not for profit organisations or individuals
£ 45 + VAT Day rate for volunteers and students
What’s included in the price?
The delegate rate includes your attendance for the whole day, including the keynote speakers and a choice of workshops. It also includes access to the supplier's exhibition and the ideas swap shop.
All delegates will also receive a conference pack which will include helpful tips and tools, and discount vouchers for our family resources and guides.
The day rate fee also includes morning refreshments, lunch and hot and cold drinks throughout the day.

A light-hearted social giving you an opportunity to meet other delegates and colleagues from across the country will take place the night before the conference. Details to be confirmed, but expect a fun, possibly adventurous, free event complimenting the themes of the showcase!
Accommodation and Travel
Affordable accommodation is available close to the venue for overnight stays, and we will be providing a list of suitable options for delegates. Please indicate on your booking form if you would like details of local accomodation.
By car: Wollaton Hall is 3 miles to the west of the city centre and can be found by following the brown signs from the A52 or the A6514.
By train: The nearest mainline station in Nottingham and frequent buses run from the city centre to Wollaton Park.
